Quality Inspection Checklist
Our name is on every project we build. This inspection process ensures that the work meets the standard before the client ever sees it. Catch it early, fix it right.
Procedure Steps
Follow each step in order. If something does not apply to the current situation, note it and move to the next step. If you find a better way, bring it to your group leader so we can improve the procedure for everyone.
Review the project specifications and drawings for the area being inspected. Know the standard before you judge the work.
Inspect structural elements first: framing, connections, load paths. These are the bones of the building — they must be right.
Check all measurements against the plans. Tolerances exist for a reason. If it is out of spec, it gets fixed.
Inspect finish work: surfaces, joints, transitions. Run your hand over it. If you can feel a problem, the client will see it.
Verify all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough-ins are properly installed and match the approved plans.
Document every deficiency with a photo and a clear description. Be specific: location, issue, required correction.
Assign corrections to the responsible crew member with a clear deadline. Follow up — do not assume it got done.
Re-inspect all corrected items before signing off. The inspection is not complete until every item passes.
